Sri Putthu Kovil
| This puttu Kovil is situated in the village of Muthirapalayam, 6km from Pondicherry. Like other putthu kovil, where Amman is worshiped, this kovil differentiates by worshiping Lord Balaji like in Thirupathi
– In Thirupathi Lord Balaji lived under a putthu, and doing meditation. In that place the temple was constructed. – Similarly, the ancestors of this land, who are Vishnavas, believe that Lord Balagi has chosen this putthu. They worship him. This temple has statues of “Vaikunda Narayanan Sametha Lakshmi”. It also has statues of “Sri Lakshmi Hayagrivar” made of atthi wood. On the temple building statues of 4 Déesses are there, one in each direction |
